FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How much will a mural cost?

The cost of a mural depends on several factors, including the wall size, surface type (e.g., rendered, brick, corrugated), the number of design elements, and the level of detail involved. My minimum mural fee is $3500 with GST included.

Prices range between $250-$350 per square meter. To get a detailed quote specific to your project, please fill out the mural enquiry form, and I’ll be happy to provide a comprehensive breakdown.

Will you provide a draft design and is there a fee?

I create a digital draft using a photo of your wall. This allows you to accurately visualise the mural design before any painting begins, ensuring you’re completely satisfied with the concept.

The design fee is $770 for projects under $10K.

For projects over $10K the design fee is 10% of the overall mural fee. These drafts often take several days/ weeks to complete and are the most crucial stage in creating a stunning mural.

If the mural proceeds, the design fee is deducted from the overall mural fee, so it’s included as part of the final cost.

Do I need to prepare the wall?

If preparation is needed, please ensure the wall is clean and free from sand, spider webs, or other debris. The surface should also be clear of major cracks. I’ll provide guidance on any specific wall preparation needed before starting the mural.

How long will it last?

I use professional quality, UV-resistant water-based house paints. The manufacturer of these paints boasts a lifetime guarantee of at least 15 years before you notice any small fading or changes. An anti-graffiti topcoat can be applied for an additional fee.

Do you require a deposit?

Yes, I require a 50% deposit before starting the project, with the remaining balance due upon completion. This secures your booking in my calendar and covers initial costs.

Can you incorporate specific themes or elements into the design?

Absolutely! I love collaborating on custom designs that reflect your vision. Whether you have a particular theme, colour palette, or local flora and fauna in mind, we can discuss ways to incorporate these elements to make the mural uniquely yours.

How long does it take to complete a mural?

The time required depends on the size and complexity of the wall. Smaller murals can take 3 days, whilst larger projects can take up to 2- 4 weeks. I’ll give you a more precise timeline once we discuss your specific project.
